Here's a little something I put together from some extra parts. Sure, it isn't really anything to shake a stick at, just something fun. It hasn't flown yet. I'll probably launch it on a B6-4 for its first flight at this month's club launch.

Like the subject heading implies, it uses a BT50 (.976) tube and an Alpha NC.

I usually like to do small scale projects like this inbetween something larger. I guess it just feeds the craving to see a finished product. Also, it is perfect for flying at the local Jr high track and football field.

Nothin to shake a stick at??

I think it's pretty cool man!

How's your L1 bird comin? Are you ready??

I'm waiting til the last minute. ;) Right now, it's flight worthy. It just needs a nice finishing job. I have a lot of spiral grooves to fill. I'll have to post some pictures once its done.

Looks cool man! :)

Oh, hope this dont sound too dumb ass a question - why the srtips connecting the upper and lower fings together?Just wandering?

I think eugene hit it on the money...Looks pretty close to scale to me. I think he has to build a whole battery of them now.

Good job, eugene they built over 38,000 Hawk missles so just about any color or pattern would probably be right...please don't put a D21 in it. That would be like trying to watch a bullet come out of the barrel of a gun.

Well, to be honest with you sandman, I used the fin dimensions from the Hawk MIM23A to scale it down. Little did I know that the Hawk MIM23B has a slightly different fin length. So, it is kind of a cross between the A and B version. It looks like the A version had integrated fin flaps while the B version had the flaps separated thus the small strip connecting the fin and flaps.

Ah well...I like it. It looks good in my collection.

And no...no D21 for me. A C6-5 if the field, wind, moon, and stars are in alignment. ;)

Thanks for the comments guys...
