Your suggestions re. designing a rocket that separates into 2 untethered
pieces at apogee.Planning 8" diameter large build with plenty of space for chutes+ebays.
Each piece with its own altimeter so that there would be 2 drouges at apogee and then 2 main chutes.
Input appreciated.
 
An interesting idea, but why? Ties up an awful lot of gear in one rocket. Not saying its a bad idea, I'm intrigued.
 
Doable, but you'll definitely want to be careful of you how pack things so that the parts don't get tangled together on the initial separation.
