Looks like some of you folks have hobbies I used to have like kart racing, stock cars, motocross, and skydiving. Also did martial arts, bowling, Ultralite airplane , and numerous types of model building and hand crafts. Nowadays my main hobby is offroad UTV riding with my Polaris RZR.
And I'm also one of the loony "doomsday preppers" you hear so much about.

I keep a 90 gallon saltwater reef aquarium with lots of fish and live coral.
As the coral grows I "frag" off pieces and sell them to my LFS(local fish store)
I then use the cash to support my rocket addiction.:p

Nice tank!

I have a 90 sitting in the garage. Makes a nice stand for rockets! Plan to set it up this summer. Interested in reefs but the initial cost is too high for me. At least for a 90. I'm considering a 20L with a 20 sump/refugium for a mini reef. Much easier to provide proper lighting.

As for the 90 I m going to stick with freshwater and go back to my youth and stock with large schools of smaller fish. I love tiger barbs so I'm thinking of 30+ along with some bottom dwellers. Not sure which. Planning it is half the fun!

Thanks man. You are correct about the inital cost some pieces of equipment are outragously expensive.
A 20L with a sump/fuge,good water flow and some LED lighting would be a great place to start.
Just rember, like rocketry, once the bug bites you always want to go bigger.

This is actually my first and foremost hobby with my return to rocketry occurring only a few years ago.
You can’t see it from these photos but the layout wraps around three of the four walls of an 12’x12’ room with a peninsula extending into the middle and a shelf-spur along the fourth wall.

Excellent. I dabble in On30" Narrow gauge myself!

Mine is N-Scale if it isn’t obvious.
While the above layout was started in 2004 much of it is built from the salvage of a previous layout.

It's definitely not O scale! I'm planning a small N scale switching layout for taking to shows.

The latest Free Flight Duration plane ready to cover. An E36 class model called the Mutt

Sweet. I haven't been following the electrics much since the days of Don Hughes and his birds. Under the E36 formula, how long is the motor run, say for a Cat II site? I seem to recall Don flying his on 20 second motor runs.

I'm in the middle of parting out my 1986 mustang, pretty nice car with a little over 600hp all motor. But got hurt at work last year and my workers comp just won't cover my bills I had. Its sad, id had the car for almost 10 year and pretty much the uni-body is the only stock parts. As soon as I get back to work I'm buying and building another. Other than that I have a 2006 CBR 1000-- with is shortly being turbo charged, and used some of the Mustang money to pick up a good deal on another bike last summer. 2003 suzuki Sv650S, its nice and fun for longer rides. Used to hunt/target shoot but moved from a farm to in town when my parents got divorced and that pretty much stopped. And well of course, getting back into Rocketry, by far a better time of the past few months for me. I forgot how much fun it was/is..:)

Some of my other hobbies include tax collecting, hunting Easter eggs, dachshund wrestling, and amateur gastroenterology.

Man that's beautiful. I'd love to see more photos of your layout.

Here's one of my other hobbies. I started making pens in 1999. I've made literally hundreds of them. I haven't made many in the last few years, though, been a little distracted by rockets.

This one is for my nephew, Wes. It's called the "bolt action" pen. Wes is into guns. The wood I used was some old oak from Wes' grandfather. I think he'll appreciate that.

Three 2 minute rounds with 15 Sec. motor run. First flyoff round: 2:00 min with 10 Sec. motor run. 2nd Flyoff round 2 minutes with 5 Sec. motor run. Keep going for 2 minutes on a 5 second motor run till you drop!

I have dabbled in a lot of stuff. Like most here I played with model railroading and RC planes, sailplanes, helis, cars, and boats. Recently I have been on a quest to thin the herd and only concentrate on the simple things that bring me the most enjoyment. What remains is rockets and fishing. While I dabble in surf fishing with spinning gear I am mostly into saltwater fly fishing and tying. As much as I enjoy rockets, fishing is my number one passion. I can't think of anything sexier than a stock of Scott rods and Abel reels. My next big purchase will be an Abel 9/10N for my S4S 10wt, hopefully that will be before the fall run. Later when the bills get caught up I think I might add scuba diving and Martial Arts into the mix.

For those that fish my current line up is:
- 7' St. Croix Avid surf rod with a Shimano Stradic Ci4 4000
- 8' Scott F2 4wt Fiberglass rod with an Abel TR1 in brown trout anno
- 8'8" Scott Heliply 7wt
- 9' Scott S4S 8wt with a gloss black Abel 7/8N
- 9' Scott S4S 10wt

I just sold a bunch of my 70's GI Joe stuff and one item had the parachute.

Most of these photos are getting long in the tooth. My $250.00 Canon Digital camera died a slow and lingering death a year or so ago and I haven’t gotten around to replacing it, assuming I ever do.
Then there are my photographic skills; of which I have none, that has to be taken into account with regards to the quality of the photos I have posted.
Eldon’s 1st rule of photography: There are only two types of cameras; inexpensive cameras with which I can take crappy photos and expensive cameras with which I can take crappy photos.

Music! I play regularly with 3 Charlotte, NC bands and occasionally play with several other groups, usually with my horn line, 'The Midwood Horns'. Tenor sax and guitar are my primary instruments. The main genre I play is funk and jazz/fusion but I also play a lot off blues, classic/southern rock and jamband stuff. Straight jazz and alternative country/americana sometimes too:) Check out some of my groups:

I also love camping, hiking, traveling, fishing, skiing, model trains and CRAFT BEER. Mmmm. I'm starting to dabble in homebrewing too:D

I don't see anything wrong with your photo skills. Great detail shots! Are you originally from California? I saw Red Bluff, Eureka, and Humboldt County in some of your scenes.

Oh, and what is an "0-2-0 Stalker"?

Ok, so here's my contribution. First, I just want to say Borky, I want to be like you when I grow up! Not much more in life worthwhile besides beer and meat! Oh well my hobbies: First was scuba diving, way back when I lived in Hialeah, Florida. Got lobster for dinner once or twice a week EVERY week through my growing up, even worked at a dive shop as my first job. Also liked skydiving. Cannot do it anymore as my better 1/2 has forbidden it. She is an OR nurse and sees injuries from the locals all the time. Sucks, because I work literally next door to the DeLand airport, and see skydivers on the order of 20 every day, sometimes many, many more. Also, I keep a 125 gallon freshwater aquarium. Nothing in it is artificial, and I trim the plants all the time. I would have to say, though, that my main hobby seems unique to this forum. I have served on the boards of 2 local orchid societies, including president. I currently have a greenhouse of 26 x 32 feet, full to the gills with somewhere around 5,000 orchids. It's got so much stuff that my clausterphobic wife won't even step inside. It's spring and time to divide and conquer, as soon as I get up a temporary shelter to house the extra's. There you have it. Orchids and rockets, a match made in heaven...

Not sure if I am ready to grow up :)

The wife got me a tandem jump for a wedding gift and a year later a first jump package where I started off with static line jumps and I realized it was not for me after my 4th jump. Hanging off the plane is scary.

^ my first tandem at 13,000 ^

The orchids sound awesome. Any pics? My username actually evolved from the first email address my father in law set up for me on AOL. I was way into homebrewing and house plants. He set up beerorchid@... and eventually I set up my first website www.beerorchid.com and when I would tell people about it they would laugh, so I registered beerorkid.com as well. Also I had a vasectomy last year ;)
