My HL has hooks (currently empty) tagged for the pro series rockets and motors.

I'm gonna need to find a local club or start one. My LPR field won't work for MPR. My one act of MPR (the only time I ever fired off an E) resulted in the sky gods claiming my Vagabond. Need bigger field (with fewer soccer kids!)

Marc

I keep telling you, Mark - come down to Holland and fly with us - we fly up to K motors there! :p

Yes.... It was the only one with a price tag. I was there with my son just to get a baby Bertha. I could not resist....

Went by my local Hobby Lobby after work and all they had was the pro series wadding.

Well, rats! Got by HL this evening and they had empty pegs for two of the rockets, the igniters, wading and motors. Alas - no Pro II stuff at all. Had to burn my 40% coupon on an Honest John (needed one anyway, but I'd have rather paid full price for it and used the coupon on a motor). Maybe next week.

Just went to the Lakeland Hobby Lobby today, nothing Pro Series there, or even tags for them. Just the typical 'weenie' stuff hanging in the same old pegs. Motors....no composites, and just like one or two packs of 'whatever'.

Wound up using my 40% coupon on some epoxy instead.

Now, when WaynesWorld or Rocketbuilder happens to go there watch them have gobs of cool stuff

Any idea if the new models and motors will be available on Hobby Lobby's online site?

My impression of their online site is that they carry there just the cream of the crop so to speak, of the most popular, persistent kit items. No so much the "flavor of the year" kits. So, educator kits, Viking, Yankee, starter sets, plus all the engines that HL tends to carry.

Perhaps Mike from Estes has knowledge and can fill us in?

Otherwise, it looks like time will have to tell.

Marc

Alas, I felt so taunted by all the comments about Pro Series at Hobby Lobby that I had to go see if the closest HL had any in stock. Clutching my fresh printed 40% off coupon I braved the gauntlet of crazed scrapbookers, stampers, and holiday decorators only to find the rocket section void of any of the new offerings from Estes. Disappointed, it still took me quite awhile to exit the store as I inspected every craft item and nick-nack looking for things that could be used, abused, and destroyed in an effort to fabricate anything useful for this disease called rocketry. I'll check again next week.

Thanks for checking, Stan. I'd printed out the 40% off coupon yesterday and was thinking about making the trip up there today to see what's what so you've saved me a useless trip.

I just did the same thing.:(

Hey Kit I also stopped bt Hobbytown, they did have a few of the new Pro Series motors.

Greenville, SC has everything: the 2 rockets, the motors and the sonic igniters.

However, I spent the 40% on a pack of C6-0 engines as it was more important.
I'll be flying my Estes Mongoose as 2 stage with dual deployment tomorrow :)

The Hobby Lobby in South Charlotte (NC) has the Ventris and had the Leviathan (before I got there). I wanted to see what the deal was with the new pro series stuff. In the bag, it looks like a typical into HPR rocket, honestly. The body tube looked to be similar to the LOC stuff. I may open the bag later tonight to see what it looks like all spread around. Not sure if I'm going to build it or if my wife will. Anyway, it was $38.60 with the 40% coupon (59.99 regular). From the appearance, that is a pretty good value compared to a lot of the MPR/HPR kits out there.

They had the F & G motors as well.

Sandy.

I went to the Hobby Lobby in Columbia, MD. Swing and a miss. It didn't even look like there were tags or anything for them. I was so disappointed I didn't have the heart to ask about them. I went to drown my sorrows in a cheeburger cheeburger cheeseburger

Cheeburger Cheeburger? It takes 30+ minutes to make a cheeseburger to drown anything in...

No-joy for me either on the Estes Pro Series at my Hobby Lobby... so I used my coupon and bought the next best thing, the Estes QCC Explorer for $12...

Good snag, If they had one of those I would have pulled the trigger on that. I had a Vagabond in my hand, but put it back. I was really bummed about no Pro series. Walked out with a $13 pack of E9-6's.

The burger got out in 10-15 and the place was hopping. I was delicious!

I pulled up the coupon on my phone. It seems easier than printing the thing out.

I bookmarked the site on my phone browser for easy access :D

I once walked into a Hobby Lobby, expecting it to look like a rocket/rc shop, and all I saw was craft stuff. I probably didn't get farther then 10 feet inside the door when I decided it looked like Michaels and left. I guess I shouldn't have judged a book by it's cover! The closest Hobby Lobby to me is much closer then where I usually go for rocket parts, kits, motors, etc. I'll have to swing by and take a look next time I'm over that way...

I live straight west in Surprise...

I've been in that HL many times. Currently the rocket section has a lot of empty hooks.

I just picked up a Leviathan kit, sonic igniters, and pro series wadding at a HL in AZ

I hope so! :D I would love to get my hands on a 29mm motor. I'ld probably scratch my own rocket for it though, rather than pay for a fancy Estes kit. ;)

I saw one each Argent and Ventris kits at the HobbytownUSA store in Tukwila, WA yesterday. No composite motors, but a few of the accessories. Full list price, of course.... but that's a start.

It was reported in a similar thread on YORF that the two Hobby Lobby stores in the Seattle area are not planning to carry these. *sigh*

The Hobby Lobby at University City had 1 Ventris and a couple of the composite motors this morning.

Is there anything different with the Pro Series wadding than the regular wadding?

Is it just larger sheets, right?

...same wadding, just more of it in the package.
