What did you do rocket wise today?

I laid 108 inches of ProLine 4500 fillets.

Now I have sticky black $#!^ everywhere.

I just finished laying fillets down on the parachute cannon for my upscale Guardian. West System mixed with some 406. I swear I had so much sticky white stuff everywhere that if the cops had came to my house they’d have probably pulled out the black light and luminal lol

Glad to see I’m not the only one that put the rear fins on wrong lol. Those things are so confusing to find which is the root edge.

Very cool though.

Crap! I even looked at the picture while doing it.

Started building and modding a Estes 2056 M104 Patriot Missle, changed the mmt to 24mm and added a baffle plate/shock cord anchor using the first coupler above the MMT, left out the motor block and motor hook. Built a completely clean sim in OR for the rocket. Airfoiled the leading and trailing edges of the fins. Should fly great on a F35W with only about 1/8oz of noseweight added (needed for F24W, F39T, and F35W). Fins are papered using self adhesive label paper. With launch season over till February is now time to kick in build season (and repairs of course).

Downloaded all of my altimeters from yesterday's launch, and tallied up my totals for the year. Only one scheduled launch left, and thats a FAR101 event next weekend, that will most likely be cancelled due to weather.

Now to order some 2.2" fiberglass tubing from Madcow to repair the zipper and delamination damage that my Frenzy suffered on its maiden flight yesterday...

In addition to the Patriot build I discovered that TB Quick and Thick is my new favorite glue for attaching LPR fins (and doing the fillets after of course).

Our clubs Sunday launch was loads of fun ! Only causality was my old COX Saturn V from 1972. Here are the last photo's of it, had a crash into the dirt and broke it into several pieces. Will have to replace it when they put out the new one for the 50th. anniversary.
My V-2, Majestic, and Big Daddy flew fine, did get caught in one tree, and got Big Daddy back.
A good day for flight.

I took the kids out for some launches this morning. 7 perfect launches with 7 perfect recoveries.

We launched the Estes Star Trooper 1/2A3-4T, Goblin D12-5, Magician C11-7, QCC Explorer E9-6, SLV E12-4, Executioner E12-4, and Rocketarium Black Brant IV E9-6.

Beautiful morning and the kids had a good time. They love going out and launching!

How do they feel about building? I missed (what might have been) the chance with my daughter. She liked launching but was lukewarm at best on the idea of building, and I didn't do enough launching to encourage more. Which might never have happened anyhow.

Kind of the same. My 13 y-o boy isn't super interested in building. My 9 y-o daughter seems a little more interested, but still not super excited about it.

Cut these out on Saturday for my L3 cert after laying up the carbon fiber on the second side. Today I'm to go do a second coat of epoxy on that side for extra strength and shininess (the bottom two show the side with a second coat, you can see how much nicer they look than the top two). It's 12k cloth over 3/8" plywood, because I want the rocket to be completely and totally unbreakable.

For what it’s worth I’m in the exact same situation. Bums me out a bit.

Holy Feces! Or do you own a hobby shop?
Yeah my eyes just about fell out of their sockets on that pic. I thought maybe it *was* a hobby shop, but looks like a garage to me (unless it's a hobby shop/motorcycle dealer).

In any case: impressive.
You guys missed the post earlier where he stated a friends hobby shop closed down and the paints were given to him. Still very nice selection.
