I've been waiting all week! I'll be staying until Sunday (same as I did last year). From what I've seen it should be a good show. I'll post pictures at the end of the day every day.

Anyone recommend any of the forums/classes they have?

I'm jealous! I haven't made the trek up there yet. One day I guess . . .

I've heard you probably will need a chiropractor after you get back to adjust your neck - there's so much to see, your head will be on a swivel all week! Have fun!

Fred's going to the Lethbridge air show.

Based on the daily attractions, it looks like Thursday - Sunday is the better part of the week (though I will miss today's Jef Dunham show :(). Lots of stuff, like the F-22, the Rocket Racers, V22 Osprey, and Warbid xtravaganza just to name a few! :D I saw the F-22 last year. Hopefully it'll give an awesome show again this year (it's neat seeing a plane come at you and not hearing it).

We will be there Friday night Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is usually not worth paying for wrist bands, as many of the Warbirds and showplanes leave Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Where are you staying? Hotel? Dorm? Camp Scholler?
We will be camping.

Anyone still in town tomorrow, feel free to show up at Cranky Pat's at 100 N Main sometime between 4ish and 7ish PM. Your first beer's on me.

Ok everyone, I've got pics, I'll post them after I get back from a swim. Just a warning, this is NOT 56k modem friendly. There are 50+. Well worth it though. I got an amazing picture of the F22 with a condensation cloud around it. :D

You've been warned. Here we go. ;)

Julie Clark's T-34, she was awesome! It's a good thing it was cloudy, it made the fireworks show up easier.

F-22! :D This thing was bananas! While under power the ground shook, but at idle it was whisper quiet. :wow:

That's all for now. You're in for a treat tomorrow, it's the Warbird Extravaganza! Plus the Rocket Racers!

Great pictures of Matt Younkin's Twin Beech there! He performed at the airshow down here last month..Pretty amazing stuff he puts that big of an airplane thru!
Met him after his performance and got an autographed publicity picture, real down to earth guy..

Try to snap some pictures of the new Cirrus jet, it supposedly flew in there Thursday..

One of these days I will make it to AirVenture! Probably as soon as I win the lotto!

Here's some more pics of the Beech. :)

No problem, Jon. I'll get some pics. I've glanced at it but haven't gotten a good look at it yet. Looks awesome! :D

Love the F22 pics! I saw one fly at Farnborough a couple of weeks ago, although it was about 6 miles away (it only displayed on a trade day and that was as close as I could be bothered to walk), but it was a properly impressive display. A jet hovering completely still in mid air isn't something you see every day!

Hey everyone. Today was great. First off I went to the Fly (flea) Market and picked up some quick links and alligator clips. Then I decided to take the TIG welding class by Lincoln Electronics. Simply joining the pieces together was pretty easy. It got a little more difficult when I tried it with filler. My puddle got out of control, and I ended up getting both the torch and filler rod stuck. After that I checked out the pavillions. Aircraft Spruce and Specialty Co. had West Systems epoxy, so I picked some (105 + 206), along with the pumps and a bag of microfiller.

View's were good as soon as I entered the airport. Here's 2 P-51s that flew later in the day. I was behind the first one at start-up and got my hat blown off.

Here's a table level view of one of the teachers demonstrating on a piece of steel. There was a discussion before.

The end result. The left one is a students' the middle is the teacher's, and the one on the right is the teacher's with filler.
DSC_0015.jpg

Then he switched to AC and demonstrated with filler on a piece of aluminum.
DSC_0017.jpg

Then I tried it out. This was right after I got the filler rod/torch stuck, thus, the look.:p

I ended up missing the Rocket Racers, oh well. Thankfully they'll be there tomorrow.

The sky got a litter dark around air show time. Amazingly not a drop fell, and everything continued according to plan as rain bands passed by in the distance.

The show got kicked off again today with the Liberty Parachute Team.
DSC_0033.jpg

As it gained altitude, the Socata TBM-700 did a demo.
DSC_0040.jpg

Right afterward the Reno Air Racers flew a 6 lap race. Around this time the sky began to break.
DSC_0059.jpg

I should probably apologize now, I was messing with the ISO so everything beyond here is a little grainy.
DSC_0062.jpg

After the race the parachuters got the attention again as they did there jumps. This time the jump was done in 2 passes, and was accented by planes.
DSC_0080.jpg

DSC_0089.jpg

After the jump, Chuck Arron flew the Red Bull Chopper again and Julie Clark flew her T-34 again, both flights were identicle to yesterday's
Sean Tucker had a new trick up his sleeve though. He flew in formation with three other pilots (didn't catch their names though).

The F-22 again, still a treat, though. :)
DSC_0158.jpg

The legacy flight flew next. This is cool.
DSC_0198.jpg

After they broke formation, the F22 continued to fly stunts. Gotta love the condensation cloud.
DSC_0219.jpg

The Warbird Extravaganza was next. Really cool!

The F/A-18's were running low on fuel, so they paused the show and let them in.
DSC_0434.jpg

After that they flew the "Missing Man" formation, and the show ended.
DSC_0460.jpg

After the show ended we headed to the theater in the woods to see Gary Sinese's "Lt. Dan Band". Before he started playing the DAV made several presentations. They even showed Gary's documentary about arranging a flight to let his uncle fly in a B-17 again. It was extremely well made and very inspiring.

Then the band came out, they played mainly 70s music, though they did play "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy".

Sorry Jon, didn't get pics of the Cirrus jet, I'll get them tomorrow though.

Wow...all this going on less than an hour away! Boy did I blow it. Maybe next year.

Cool. It really must be fun over there. Thanks for the pics, they were awesome.
