This is great news. We have been waiting for the word its a go. I will let Ed Wilkes know about this he has the swamp monster almost ready to go and he will fly it on a M in January for the test flight then he will step it up with 5 motors total. He will most likely do that at this event. Thanks guys for all the hard work to make it happen.

It will be TRA sanctioned, and all three days will be research.

For anyone who may not be familiar with Tripoli, this does not exclude commercial motors. Tripoli and NAR members can fly commercial stuff all three days as well.

I just spoke with Ken Allen from Performance Hobbies. He is planning on a special sale for the launch on all Aerotech and CTI reloads and hardware!
Give him a call or email for specifics... His sales are usually Awesome!

Nice looking field, I'm going to attempt to make this launch. :)

It would be nice to meet some of the forum people!

Will there be any Hybrid support? Any objections from the those in charge if I were to drag along the NEFAR GSE?

No objections at all. Unless Glenn knows something I don't [I'm no longer surprised when this happens], your contribution may be the extent of the GSE for this event.

We don't have any, but someone brought hybrid GSE to the first GRITS. I think it got used once or twice. So I'd say go ahead and bring yours.

We have confirmation that there WILL be places for RVs to park. In the area designated it looks like there will be room for about 10-12. There are no hookups out at the field, of course, but there are a couple of camping outlets in the area that would provide hookups; one in Nashville (local establishment) and one in Tifton (KOA).

Who all would want to bring and RV and stay parked at the field?

Thanks!

We are considering it. I haven't driven it other than around the parking lot, so I will have to convince myself that I can handle it. Also, we are attending NARCON the next weekend, so I have to consider the logistics of picking up and returning the RV. And, we'll be pulling our trailer ... and ... do I sound like I'm trying to talk myself out of bringing the RV? :)

If the weather is good I will be staying at the comfort inn. In Tefton. When I go down 125 to 204 which is Nicole rd will there be a sign there to lead us in to the field?

There will be plenty of signs to direct you from 125 to the rangehead.

One thing to note: there is no direct turn from 125 onto Nicole Rd - you'll turn onto Talmadge Lindsay Rd, then onto Nicole Rd in only about 80 feet. IOW, there won't be a street sign for Nicole Rd directly on 125. And there are no signs indicating Nicole Rd as highway 204. More detailed directions will be added to the website soon.

Please dont take this the wrong way, not meant to be a smart ass, but "Rocket launch this way" signs would be a great help.

Oh sure, NOW you tell me what you want them to say AFTER I've called the print shop. :)

Looked at the gritts web site and didn't see anything about pre regestration. Do you guys plan on it or just register when we get in there. Thanks

A few questions I received from the Florida bunch-

Is there going to be a few 15/15 rails? (assuming 10/10 standard and saw the Unistrut response earlier)

Do you have longer rails and ladders to support two stage flights?

How many mid, high and away cell pads are you planning to setup? Are you
going to do a left/right range configuration to keep things moving along?

TIA!
