Organised my 'build pile' into a cabinet - very cool sliding door thing I got from work when they closed down an office recently...

That doesn't include my scratch-build supplies - argh!

And while I was snapping photos, took one of my current low power fleet...

I have a problem.

Just finished to assemble my Large Guillotine Fin Jig, this 2.6" tube look so small

I stopped at a hobby lobby hoping to find the new 29mm black powder motors, Layton, Utah.
No such luck, no composites either. Was hoping that close to Colorado, maybe just maybe!

Ordered 4 more altimeters and switches for them, I also ordered brass tubing and rod to make the "remove before flight" pins

Stayed the night at my daughters house in Bellevue, NE on the way home from AIRFest. Today I cleaned my CTI 75mm 5G and 38mm 2G cases, rearranged the back of my truck, cleaned out the cab, downloaded the Raven2 FIP file for the flight of my Ultimate Endeavour on a CTI L1115, checked the results from my RRC2 Mini from the same flightand downloaded pictures from the launch. Raven said 8127 ft AGL with a top speed of 875 fps and the Mini said 8182 ft at 971 fps. Downloaded video but will have to wait until I have access to a better computer.
Then I am attending the THOR club meeting tonight before I head for home. Tomorrow clean out the truck and put everything away.

Bought a pair each of E16 and F15 from Hobby Lobby in Morgan Hill, Calif.

Drove past the field where my Estes Patriot has been hanging for two weeks and noticed that it was gone, so I pulled over to see if it fell. I parked the car next to the wires that have held my Estes Drifter hostage since early April and looked up to see how things were looking for it.

It wasn't there.:y:

The chute, shock cord and nose cone were, but the body of the rocket was gone. I found it at the base of the pole in some heavy grass. (It's a rental house. They don't do much in the way of yardwork.) One fin was broken off, probably from the impact when it fell.

I was able to pull what was left of the motor out and after looking it over, I realized that all it will take to get this flying again is a new shock cord, nose cone and STREAMER. (No way I'll try this rocket on a chute anymore. It DRIFTS!)
Sure would like to get that old nose cone down.........

Received a package from LOC today. USPS tried to deliver it to my work address on Saturday, (D'oh) and somewhere along the way they decided to lovingly handle mangle the box. Luckily, the contents of the box remain undamaged.

Decided to take on a challenging Rocket Project. I ordered a "The Launch Pad" ALARM Kit. Kinda' ordered it on impulse, then I came back here to research it. Spent most of the Day in the "TRF Archives", finding out that these "The Launch Pad" Kits require you to basically use them as an Idea, or Blueprint for building your own interpretation of what they are supposed to be. This is a good thing, because I'm looking for a challenge, and this will surely improve my Experience Level. Bonus, I'm learning about buying "Replacement Parts" for a Rocket I don't even own yet.
Thank goodness for this Forum, if I'de have gotten this Kit and not had you guys to tell me what to do with it, I think I'de be overwhelmed and lost! Now I know about lowering the MMT, reinforcing the BT, upping the Fin Strength, and a bunch of other thing that this Kit needs. It will be a long build, but I'm confident it will be a good one.

I am glad you find it a good thing. I will simply say I have built three TLP kits. All are totally stock per instructions using the materials in the kit except one which I document here and does not vary THAT much from stock. At the time I built two of them in the late 1990's, I simply did know any better. The TLP Hawk 1.6 I built here and it's almost stock. One alas got destroyed in one of my first forays into RMS'. The other two are still flying each year. The Osiris MPM probably has 40 flights on it. Most Aertoech D15s. The Hawk, D12s and D15s.

My feeling is most people over-built and over-think the kits. They pay $30 and then essential use the patterns. :roll".

YMMV of course. But IMO don't take all the old threads saying "Replace this, and ditch that" as the gospel. JMO.

Point taken, and I'm not going to just do every Mod anyone has ever done to it, but I have built a Scratch Built that flew on G-40 and ultimately a G-80, and that was before I was even online to come to Sites like this to get advice. (2000). I'm confident I can make this kit be what I want it to be. If not, then it crashes and burns and I go get another for $35 and try again. Came across a Vendor that has them for $31 after I'de already ordered mine. I'm already up to $77.88 with the new LOC MMT and Retainer + Rail Buttons

Came home to find a box of rockety goodness waiting for me! Ordered this late Thursday evening and got it today.. so really it only took 4 days over a holiday weekend! Not bad Hobbylinc.com (and USPS). Georgia to California.. I'm impressed. Didn't think I'd see this until next week! I heard my normal on site vendor wasn't going to be at the big local launch.. so I ordered up what I wanted if I decide to go, plus these will work if I go to the LPR club as well. It was kind of nice getting everything I wanted for a change instead of settling for what he has....

I know there always seems to be a big debate on TLP kits here... But honestly, they do fly well built stock out of the bag. They are light weight with a good range of stock motor choices. You start changing everything out and it messes with stability and weight. If you are going to change everything you might as well just scratch build your own "improved" version and save $40... Put that $40 towards a copy of Rocksim and design away!

Jerome :)

Completely agree. Even the Quest High-Q which I just finished, I used MOST of the parts. Just not the balsa fins because heck, I was gonna use 29mm motors (no thrust block so killer CTI loads will fit). I just can't figure out buying the kits then tossing all but the patterns. OTOH, each to their own!

Let me tell you:
ROCKSim was worth every penny. Less than two J motors. I use it all the time. OpenRocket BTW is fine (other than a HORRENDOUS flight / launch interface).

Here's my TLP build pile:
Bullpup AGM-12B
Bullpup AGM-12C
Dragonfly
Gabriel
Hellfire AGM-114A
Kormoran AS.34
Krypton
Matra Magic R.50
Nike-Ajax
Osiris MPM
PAC-3
Perseus II
Pershing
Sea Wolf
Sidewinder
Sparrow
Standard Arm AGM-78

I've built a couple of the TLP kits - I've always used all the parts except for one - the fin pattern didn't actually fit the supplied balsa

The TLP kits are a pleasure to build :)

Finished the Asteroid Hunter minus primer/paint. Started building a Quest Magnum. First cluster ever...first non-Estes build ever!

I just made a 1/3, 2/3 full tips to tips FB , this is so cool, I can't wait to remove the peel ply to see the results.
