Thank you!

I am surrounded by Anglophiles who gush over this stuff. As for me, I don't give a rodent's patootie.

It is refreshing to hear sentiment from like-minded folks.

Cool. She shoved out a lizard. Congrats Kate.

That answers that....I had considered asking the Canada rocket guys their take on the royal chap. Guess I know huh? LOL LOL!!

Congrats to them all. Hope the baby is healthly. No one should suffer heath problems ever. Other than that...the kid will be spoiled and lavished beyond belief. I struggle daily to get and sometime do without my insulin. The chap will NEVER know a po' commoner's strife. He WILL always have while there are many who struggle going without..... Ask any other limey like me here on the forum.

Finally it's over. It's a boy. Whoopie!:eyeroll:
I just got back, I was there Big "D". Willy called me the other night to say he was sending a private jet. They wanted me to be there for the big occasion. Great time but I had to get back for work.

Do you know how long it took me to figure out what this thread was about? Probably about 2 minutes. I had to actually read each post. After the second time reading each post, I noticed the name Kate. Now I know! And guess what! I don't care either! Spent a while in England and love the place and the people but the royalty is just to keep the media in business... globally I decided.

I would be interested to hear from our UK denizens... do you rocketry folks over there care much about this, or is it similar to something like a Madonna / Kardashian thing or other US celeb... in that some portion of the US cares about these people but probably most of the members of this forum really don't care about celebrities.

Just curious.

I'm glad mother and baby are fine. Could I have gotten through the day without hearing about it? Absotively.

Don't care. Monarchies seem ridiculous even if they are only ceremonial.

Our monarchy is ridiculous, even if it is constitutional.

They take more money than is fathomable, avoid taxes and have never had to work a day in their life.

An un-elected head of state is just wrong. It's 2013. And Prince Charles has more political power than most people like to think, and that will probably increase one his mother passes away.

But there does seem to be a healthy symbiosis between your Celebs and our Royal Family, news wise.

Ah, and the world goes on...

On the other hand, our monarchical heritage is great. I love visiting castles, and anyone who takes a vacation over here wold be silly not to bathe in our rich past.

Only two days ago I was chatting to some American visitors at he top of Edinburgh Castle in Scotland. As we looked out over the ancient city they were staggered a the sheer age of our history.

I'll let monarchy have that. Not this reign though, they have built exactly ZERO nice things for me to go look at.

Why is the new baby an heir to the throne and his uncle Harry is not? Is that because Harry looks like the mailman?

Just an observation.

When I visited England and Ireland about 13 years ago, the history was the thing I was struck with. Things that are from the Colonial period in the US are relatively "new" in the British Isles WRT age. Stood in more castes (ruined or restored) than I can remember.

Love my wool sweater that I bought in a small tourist shop in the Aran Islands. When I asked the woman behind the counter who made it, she said "my mum". My guess that has been going on in the family for a few generations. Love that my wife an I got to see some matches at Wimbledon which has it's own history, and got to see Serina Williams and Anna Kornikova play.

One of the highlights of the trip was seeing the Crown Jewels. Definitely worth seeing. They also had a loop film going on the coronation of QEII back in '53. Lot's of impressive ceremony.

England is England. Mind the gap.

Actually Granny got PO'd when the world saw him nekked in those pictures and she told him, "NO THRONE FOR YOU, SHANKY DUFFER!"

The safe birth of any baby should always be a happy occasion, and reason enough for family and friends to celebrate. The fact that this particular little fellow might one day rule a re-nascent British Empire should provide all of us in the former colonies and dominions sufficient incentive to wish him the very best!

Hey, that's my 14th cousin, two times removed!!

And no, I don't really care.

...isn't Harry 4rd in line after Charles, then William, then his son?
Isn't it the first son that is the heir? So it's Charles, William, then baby William. I guess you'd be right, if something happened to them all, then maybe Harry. Hell, I don't know. Seems to me Elizabeth is going to live till Charles passes away anyway. I wasn't much of a history buff. I'm more the math guy, which is why rocketry seems to suit me.

Ya know.....Dad was Scotch. Mom irish/brit. The entire time I was back I never went over. Lots of Welsh in the lineage too. Should have toured more.

Umm, no. I don't care! But it aint over folks. Now we get to wait until the rug rat is named. No peace on the airwaves for a while yet. And poor Harry gets tossed under the bus for being second born. No throne for him, so why not get jiggy in Vegas?
