What did you do rocket wise today?

Finished-up the Fantasy Rocket, just needs some sealer on the strakes and it's ready to prime. Need to come up with a name for this rocket...can't call it the Fantasy Rocket forever. Suggestions?

The Psychopath was annoyed that I spent the whole day working on rockets and ignored her. After I snapped this picture, I paid for my transgressions with a bloodletting.

Holy cow you are on fire man. Those are amazing. And she is cute as hell and would like walkies I believe ;)

I unboxed my K&S 4" Sat Interceptor (finally!) to start the planning for it. Debating on using it for my first go at hand-fiberglassing tubes and fins. John Coker's method looks pretty fool proof and I am near Soller Composites and they have some fiberglass sleeves that would work for a 4" rocket pretty easy peasy. There is a lot of prep work for this rocket (I need to bevel the fins - ugh) and I need to also doublecheck the measures and everything else. I have to say that I really hope that K&S gets their mojo back because his e-bay kits are flippin' amazing.

I tried to get some sanding done on the fins for the Mini Eagle Claw but i just didn't get a chance to. My wife was on the treadmill next to my rocket build table this evening and I figured it would be good to not sand fiberglass while she's running. The sacrifices we make!

Added yet another to the build bench, When I placed my order for the Pro Series parts from Estes to start my 2X Guardian I also threw in the Fletcher. Cool looking arrow styling. So.....While the first color of paint dried on the Patriot build (Red ring around the top and the red fin can) I worked on the Fletcher. Got it all the way to primer, now comes sanding and filling, and need to get more paint! Also, started my list of things needed to build the Guardian.

Gave up waiting for my RRC-3 and started building the sled for my 3" Darkstar. After reviewing CJ's thread, I mounted the battery boxes and my Stratologger. Left a place for the RRC-3 and mounted a Featherweight magnetic switch on the edge of the sled to power the SL-100 with. Pretty slick setup.

Started packing up for NXRS this weekend.
I was pretty far behind in my launch supplies and really didn't get much packing done. But now I have ejection charge canisters and I can finish packing after work today.

Painted the modified CC Express. After temporarily loosing the last one (for a week) since this one will be carrying a payload (altimeter and Hello Kitty) I'd rather not lose this one temporarily or other wise, I used Florescent Racing Red. To miss this on the ground or in the sky, would be hard. I think I smoked my compressor too....At least the paint job came out. Just need to paint some black on the remaining white fins and booster tube and fins.

1- give the final coat on the fins of my Estes 3" Nike Smoke
2- paint, sand, paint sand the tube of the same Nike Smoke
3- Install a rack for rocket over the bench
4- install a shelf for small rocket parts
5- Work on the electical drawing of a club launch pad

fun part :

Receive few CTI motors
Receive another shute

found out that the BT80 I ordered to fix my Standard ARM is not what I need. Looks like it is LOC 2.6... dang it... (it's a Cluster-R kit so it's not like I can look it up or call 'em)

Solicited advise here on the 38 mm Aerotech spacer system, got useful feedback, and ordered the system from Wildman.

Thanks folks. This forum really helps me spend my money effectively (meant in more than one sense)...my wife calls that "enabling."

Make a large order at Digi-Key for my Launch pad controller. I also ordered a bit collar stopper, for those time I forget to drill the AT delay before insert it in the closure

Thought about sanding the fins for my little crayon tonight and cutting out more parts... but its just too damn hot in my garage... its in the high 90s and almost 9:30pm!

I'll be out painting in the early morning hours. Next 5 day prediction is 100+. Sunrise at 6AM so I have a bit befor it gets too hot to paint. I MIGHT be scrubbing my 4th of July launch, I just can't take the heat like I used to. :p

Last couple of days I got 2 more built, scratch, of course. First was 10" of SEMROC BT50 with a SEMROC BNC50 RAMJET nosecone with a Hartle Engineering 10" chute and 6 fins, 3 larger isosclies triangle fins a 3 smaller to match. The stacked jagged sharkfin design looks pretty cool :) Looks fast just sitting. 2nd 18" of SEMROC BT80 with a Sunward PNC BT80 cone. 3 low aspect fins on the large side with Totally Tubular multi-centering rings with a 24mm mount. I have a Top Flight 20" chute going inside. Should fly good on an E12.

Enjoyed a simple and quick build for a change. Built an Estes Dink. A small 13mm E2X rocket. A little plastic model cement, then some regular glue for the shock cord mount, and she was built in under 30 minutes. :)

Finally sanded the fins for the Mini Eagle Claw and started to attach the bottom fins onto the tailcone.

I also marked up and started to slot the 4" SI. I was considering doing a build thread but forgot before slotting. Maybe I'll still do one. Might be helpful since i know there are a few people out there with 4" SIs.

I also verified the fit of the new bulkplate to the nose of my 4" Madcow Sensor. I am still debating on the final setup for this one so it sits alone on the bench. Wondering if it will ever get finished.

I feel your pain. It was 109 here yesterday.

Last night, I planed to finally finish the constriction of my Ventris. I realize that I never laid down an alignment line for the rail buttons I plan to add. With the fins already installed, the piece of angle aluminum I have won't allow me to center the line between 2 of them. I'll be off to the hardware store at lunch for a smaller piece, as well some longer screws to accommodate the 1/2 inch rail-button spacers I got from doghouse rocketry.

(Also realized I should have held off on the aft centering ring so I could install a weld nut for the aft rail button. Now I'm going to need to use a well nut instead. Not a huge deal, but kind of irksome.)

Reworked the connectors to my magnetic switch. Removed the plastic cover and soldered the wires, added heat shrink and hot glued them down:
