On the subject of football, it’s time to get people angry at me! I dislike football.
Ps but actually I just think it’s confusing.
The best way to get a grip on the game is to tune in and pay close attention to the commentary. If you end up going to a game in-person, go with somebody who knows more about it than you.
It can also just be enjoyed for being a gladiator sport with big hits and feats of physical conditioning.
A Discord server I’m in has a coordinated watch event with an international audience and that’s what they do.
In prior years the teams were pretty mismatched and it would be a pretty high-scoring blowout. Recently teams have invested in defensive play (preventing their opponent from scoring touchdowns by intercepting passes, picking up fumbles, breaking through the offensive line to sack the quarterback and block kicks) so now it’s much lower-scoring and more even.
I Googled up what she has to do with football and I found out that her boyfriend's jerseys, and fans, " bought jerseys (Travis Kelce's jersey sales increased almost 400% "
Taylor Swift has recently been a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry. Long known for being one of the few pop artists to write all of her own material (aside from the odd cover), she’s been re-recording her back catalog to gain the full rights to it. She’s been on tour for an extensive period of time, performing a demanding three-hour setlist while also dancing and sometimes playing an acoustic guitar. She also released a concert film last year to a highly successful theatrical release without the involvement of major Hollywood studios, which was seen as significant while the strikes were ongoing.
All of this has brought her a bunch of awards and shattered a ton of sales and streaming records, and earned her recognition across genres. David Draiman of Disturbed, a heavy metal band with a successful 20-year career, recently spoke favorably of her recent spate of success in the middle of a show.
Conversely, she’s also been subjected to the mockery, hostility, conspiracy theories, and stalking that accompanies a woman gaining influence and an independent streak in the industry.
For the record, I am not a Swiftie, I just live with one. My own library is comprised of a bunch of Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, that sort of thing. Swift is just on such a roll that I’ve been persuaded to sit up and take notice.
Her recent intersection with the NFL via her relationship with Travis Kelce just brought the media blitz surrounding her success to an audience that was largely unprepared for it.
