I just noticed that was Crispin Glover in the funky getup from River's Edge.

I haven't seen the movie, but I saw him on Letterman wearing this when he was promoting the movie. He was acting pretty weird and at one point said, "I can kick" and stood up an kicked towards Letterman's face. They cut to a commercial and Glover was just gone when they came back, no good-byes.
That Letterman incident is famous....it was not planned/staged, and Letterman was way pissed off. One of Glover's finest moments and one he is notorious for. I thought it was hilarious.

The film in question is "Rubin & Ed", starring Glover and Howard Hesseman. It's simply brilliant. Not for "everyone" by a long shot, and is pretty much the epitome of quirky/weird.....in all the right ways. If you can track it down, it's well worth seeing (unless you're one of those people - and there are many - who just hate it). Me?...it's one of my all time favorites.

I thought it was hilarious.

Me too!!!

I really didn’t care for him until I saw that interview. He was way out there, it was hilarious. Then after the kick, when Dave came back on, he was gone, just like that. I had to give him credit for his Back to the Future weirdness after that.

I had to find the interview and watch it. I would have been 5 during that appearance. It made Joaquin Phoenix's appearance make more since, although it was clear that Phoenix was playing a character too.

It's the one that put Fantastic Voyage in my head, even though it's obviously not that.

Oh, heck, I suspected that even though I've never seen it.

Nope, not Fantastic Voyage, although it's one of my favorite movies.

Never seen Boys Town? It's a great movie. Gotta love Spencer Tracy.

#432 This Island Earth
Whoops I see it's MST3000 This Island Earth
... or properly, I guess, MST3000: The Movie
-Wrong!
-Almost right, but still incorrect.
-Now you got it.
(I figured my trick would work).
