Finished up another RC RG today that had been on the bench longer than planned, due to various other projects sneaking in front of it....:)

This is a model of the designed, but never built, the Japanese Mizuno Sinryu Type II rocket interceptor. WWII ended before it could be built.

Constructed from BT-80 tubing with the aft part of the tube split and tapered. PNC-80K cone, 9mm Depron foam wing and 6mm foam canard and vertical tail. The canopy is a modified commercially available RC aircraft canopy. RMS-RC E6 for motor and RC elevon control.

Inspired by Wally Ferrer and digging into the box of random spares I previously obtained from my local recycling group, Reverse Garbage in Woolloongabba, Brisbane, I now introduce to you all --- "Spoolin' Around"!
Used 3 different recycled cotton reels, plus the nose cone is a soft drink plastic bottle blank (before they get heated and blown in the bottle mould). Estes 18mm motor mount and Estes chute. QR says it will reach a mighty 124ft on a C6 or a paltry 47ft on a B6.

Definitely need a launch video!

Starting my 2nd Up scale of the 1971 Centuri model "Micron" rocket. 26 inches long , BT80 2.60 airframe and a 24mm motor mount. Fins are Basswood cut out on my Slide saw. Both Angle cuts are 45 degree.
Micron's little fat Fins are on.

Launches were actually Saterday, but due to a bad knees and visit to a critical care clinic, I was not able to post until today. I just got my L1 last month , and was unsure if I was going to be able to make to this weekends launch. But after checking the weather forecast (50-70 degrees with very low winds) ,I knew I had to go (I was correct). I launched my Zephyr on an I 140 , but the best part of the flight was the landing. Like I said, my knee was really hurting, so I was thrilled when the rocket bounced off the awning on my tent and literally landed 10 ft from my prep table. Also launched a few LPR .

Landing on the tent can't get any better than that.

I've used the Emma kites spool before. Flies good on a C6-0. I also made a big spool. It has a 29mmmount and parachute recovery. Flew it on a G78-4. It flew well too.View attachment 460832
Awesome Spool rocket and a good flight with a "G". You hang your rockets just like I do.

Best I could do rockety-wise was playing the original "Duck Dodgers in the 24-1/2 Century" for my grandkids. It would be a real bummer to present them, with their Duck Dodgers, Marvin the Martian, and Junior Space Cadet rockets and then they don't even know what they are!

The brainwashing continues!

Nice Rockets. I'm running out of room. There are 153 up there.
Thank you. WOW!!! You are up there close or maybe have the record of rockets. 153 Birds you have tops me out big time. I have 97. The big ones I hang and Im running out of room too.

'Yesterday went to MDARS with a friend of mine (ProfMason) getting his L3 and also for a NASA USLI team I mentor (CSU Long Beach) for their final launch. Here's a picture of Martin and his rocket launch.

Today I'm working on editing and posting hundreds of pictures taken this month of rocket stuff and time permitting getting a rocket ready for launching next week at the FAR facility.

That looks like it needs to be made into a two stage.

Just finished some 1:1 with a launch Canada student team!

I'm learning, they're learning, we're all learning!

(Today's topic was torsional loads & urethane foam in the fin can! (And plug to Teddy at @Onebadhawk for proper shock cord lengths & loading!))
