I must warn you: this project is 'plans within plans'. o_O;)

Phase 1 - building the model per specs (instructions).:)

Phase 2 - covering the model in Monokote.

Stick a light bulb in it and it doubles as a desk lamp!

I am trying to figure out where the chute comes out? Rear eject?

Could get the visuals quite accurate (and now I probably will if I have some spare time), but the flight sim will be nonsense.

The Rebel line from Rocketarium is really clever, I look forward to seeing how this one goes together.

Thanks for looking in, guys. ;)

Yeah, one of my reasons for choosing this kit was simply because I was fascinated with the design.

So, here is what you get: a fair amount of plywood!

Starting with the engine mount, which has it's own set of instructions. This rocket can use D motors, but it is really made for E motors.

And I have already messed up.....

Working on the motor mount, I realized I had not put the Forward Centering Ring close enough to the front. Should be 1/4"; I am closer to 5/8".

Not a crises, but I have less Kevlar chord to work with. Ever forward....

Nah, not a critical measurement. Plus the stock length of kevlar leader supplied would still wind up well short of the length of central tubing. So the elastic shock cord needs to be attached before gluing in the mount. Or replace the kevlar with a longer leader.

Hey @Crawf56, would you be willing to take a picture of the longitudinal pieces (i.e., one piece with a fin, and one piece that forms the nose) alongside a ruler? I think it would be fun to make a sim of this rocket. I think I can figure out the rest from there, or at least close enough.

Very nice! I've flown mine on E15s and E20s. E20s are better.

I can do that. But it might be a week, because my computer has been borrowed.

Getting the nosecone together. The discs are numbered in order of size, with the smallest disc being #1, and the largest being #9.

Once assembled, use thin CA to attach.

Showing the side profile. Note that disk #9 is shown to the left, but NOT glued to the Nose. #9 is used for alignment.m_IMG_0644small.jpg
