Glad to be a part of this great place. My son and I have been launching low power on our own for years as I don’t know of a club here in Western Arkansas. If we go to an organized launch to watch and get ideas we go to Tulsa.

We are planning on going to Distant Thunder at the rocket pasture next month.

Thanks again for letting me be a part, and look forward to learning a lot.

Welcome!

What have you guys been building?

Mostly Estes kits so far but starting to look at other companies. There’s so much out there, not sure where to begin.
There are indeed a lot. FlisKits makes awesome kits for the Quest MicroMaxx II motor. Working at that scale is a different kind of challenge, to be sure.

LOC/Precision makes a bunch of stuff in a wide power range. Their LOC IV is the classic 4-inch high-power kit that can be flown on F and G motors if you build and configure it right. Their Onyx, a short 3-inch kit with a 29mm motor mount and pretty substantial construction, is a logical extension of the Estes Big Daddy concept.

North Coast Rocketry also has a bunch of cool stuff. Their Cluster Duck rocket takes 7 motors simultaneously and can be flown without certification.

Lots of fun stuff to try without moving out of the LPR/MPR realm, if you’re brave enough!

Welcome to the Forum. Greetings and salutations from Pahrump Nevada. The School Rockets from BMS are something to consider. I have built a few. After you have built some kits you might design your own rocket. You can get the parts from a bunch of places. Post some pictures of you fleet.
