Assembled the drill press and cut 9 centering rings for the Starship Vega landing pods.
For those of you out there who have never done it, it really hurts a lot when you stick your finger into the path of a fly cutter / circle cutter at 750rpm. Thankfully it hit the cuticle area of my finger and the finger folded out of the way. There was a little blood and a few adult words, but a paper towel around the finger and I completed the task.
I spent about $75 (and hurt myself) for maybe $5 worth of rings. Why to I always do it the hard way??
Ummm dude dude dude tell us a bit about yourself or something.
43 years old from Minnesota. During the day, I work in an Employee Benefits Department running the retirement plans for my employer. Many years ago in grade school and jr. high, I launched a couple rockets. The other week my wife found an advertisement for a local Tripoli launch. She suggested that my son and I should go. We did and had a great time. Little does she know that she may have created a monster and made herself a rocket widow.
Invite her along the next time. My wife now builds and flies rockets herself and is considering getting her Level 1 certification.

I am sure you are aware of it, but we love to assist with any questions you might have.
Holy crap, man!! Thanks be that it didn't grab your fingers and suck them in When I use mine I use 2 clamps and never put my hands around the cutter when it's spinning. I swear I have never seen a possibly more dangerous tool ever. Even the black finish works against you, that's why mine has some yellow tape on the bar the cutter is affixed to, so my weak eyes can see it.
Just messing around with some retainers.

I think they will do the job.

100F in the garage, frustrated because the I should have spent the $ for a better drill press, etc etc. I shut it off and just reached in, it was still spinning. I caught the end of the bar. I agree it is a dangerous tool and that the bar needs some color at the ends.
I think I'll throw the tool away and get more hole saws. I will keep my fingers longer that way.
The one can of primer I applied two days ago is now mostly dust in the vacuum cleaner. Lather, Rinse, Repeat!
Just put another one and a half cans of primer back on ... will it ever end?
Finally finished my rockets for NYPOWER.
Added nose weight to Excalibur
Put decals on 3FNC & Orion
Repaired Gnasher
Here is the fleet I am bringing. Many of these are "virgins" and will have their maiden flight. We will see how these wreak havoc upon the masses and lay waste to Geneseo :y:
