Did this the other day. Pretty easy, since the material was thin and fairly soft. I couldn't justify buying a specialized tap wrench for one job on an item I was selling anyways, so I just held the tap with a pair of pliers which seemed to work well enough for my application.
Good results but like anything else, would rather have a machine to do this kind of thing. Someday...
