He did have great breath as an actor. My favorite role of his was as "Mississippi" from El Dorado. I also heard today that he was voted America's best Italian two different years even though he was of German Jewish heritage.
I watch El Dorado at least once a month. He was so young then, but displayed his acting abilities even then as, "One of the Best".
His time in the whole in wall was pretty great as well. His later work it seamed he wasn't putting so much into is character has he had in the past. We all get burned out on our job no matter how much we love it. It's a job. And I'm sure lots of other things contributed his cue card reading type work.
A Great Actor that won't be soon forgotten, and he will live on through his work on film. One of a few people I wish I could have met and shook his hand. Most of that group has nothing to do with acting, but Space Exploration.
