I was into rockets as a kid and launched my last one with my kids over 30 years ago. Now that I'm retired and have extra time on my hands along with design software and open rocket decided to have some fun. I just got done 3d printing the components (fins, nose cone, motor tube) and am waiting on the 2" tubes to get here along with the warmer weather. I will be using a F15-4 motor (1) and according to the software should be about 940 ft. apogee. So with autocad, the prusa printer and open rocket I should be able to have some fun without mishap.

These are some of the components I printed. The engine as I said earlier is a Estes F15-4. Nose cone is 7.5" tall without the 2.5" body insert. I've attached the open rocket file for critiquing and would appreciate being made aware of any design flaws.

Where do you plan on flying?

If you want info on organized launches, let us know.

Best,

I'm close to Roselle, https://tripoliwisconsin.org/ is about an hour away and a great group to fly with. Wildman Rocketry is the onsite vender.
My son lives in Pell Lake, about 20-30 mins south of Burlington so that looks like it will work. Not sure of the requirements to launch there. Will have to look into it. Finding out at 71 yrs old that there is a lot more than the hope for the best (61 yrs ago).

Two fun groups fly at the same location in WI, Bong State recreation area. Wildman is onsite vendor to both.

https://www.wooshrocketry.org/ welcomes newbies, BARs, fliers of all stripes. Between WOOSH & TWA, there are two weekends every summer month with launches. Come on up and say Hi!
