After coming home from the Photo place and looking through my pictures of all the projects I worked on last winter, I found some for everyone to look through.

I really didn't know where to put this so here it is.

This is not time travel and you havn't been dragged pack 40 years to those thrilling days of early rocketry.

But, enjoy. This shelf is in my family room. These are not old, I built them all last winter. I think I'm addicted to Elmers glue and model airplane dope.

Hey Sandman -- you can't fool us. That's a picture from the first color Estes catalog, right?

Love that Astron Drifter. Mine lasted one launch. As you may recall, that kit came with a 12" and a 24" chute. With the larger chute (of course), and a C.8-5 (English units, not metric back in the 60s), that baby caught a thermal and headed to another state, I'm sure. :(

Wasn't it Commando Cody...Sky marshal of the universe ?

And remember all space guys drive up to their spaceships in their Nash Ramblers.

I think you're right Sandman.

I started wondering about that after making the post.

Thanks

Good display sandman. Has your wife ever asked "just how many rockets do you need"? My wife asked me that the other night while counting the rockets in my display. I answered her question with this question, " and how many pairs of shoes do you need"? End of conversation. :D

She needs at least two pair for each outfit. You need a rocket for every possible weather condition and for each different launch area limitation. :D Naturally a small field with 10 MPH winds requires a different rocket than a large field with no wind, etc. etc. ad infinitum.

Congratulations on your small victory. You've gained some temporary advantage with this small battle, but the war is far from over. Victory will be difficult, and not particularly rewarding...

From the voice of experience in these matters.

This is Sandman's wife----I was asked how many rockets the Mr. needs. Well I have lots of stuff....all of which my husband is not interested in. That's O. K. Different interests make our few hours of "off" time more enjoyable. Now when we are really, really old the whole story may change, but for now, what ever keeps you going. Attached is one of my favorites, I think the colors for rockets should be a bit more oh I don't know exciting. How many white rockets can you have. Where's the pink, green and yellow. Those colors are not used enough. What do you think?

Mrs. Sandman

P.S. from sandman: This is the needle completely scratch including homemade nose and tailcones. I call it the SILVER NEEDLE.

I have just sent your better half a rocket that he will almost certainly be painting blue and red, is that good enough?

Richard :)

Ok, I actually will admit it...There is a hot flourescent pink and black rocket in my collection. It's my daughter's LOC Norad...that's what she wanted, so you tend to "cater" to the females, no matter what age. ;)

It does look pretty good though, I must say...and it flies like an animal on a H128W!

Here is a pic of her and I walking from the pad...taken by my son...I like the shadow effect on it and yes, that's the Nomad...
