When I was in college 30+- years ago I was studying in Italy for one semester. There were groups of gypsy children that would try to surround us to pickpocket us. We would just start screaming random phrases in Italian over and over. Examples:
Mange la coniglia morda! Mange la coniglia morda!... (Eat the dead bunny! Eat the dead bunny!...)
or
Mange la porta! Mange la porta!... (Eat the door! Eat the door!...)
If no Italian phrases came to mind, we would just scream "Toaster Oven" repeatedly.
It was hard not to laugh as we were given a wide berth
