Hi all,
I am looking for a commercial solution that most probably exists in the rocketry industry. I love rockets since child, but I am not on it. I live in Spain and this market here is unknown for me. So, I would like to see if somebody can put me in the cue to find it.
I am looking for a GPS plus radio transmitter (and battery of course). The idea is to be transmitting the position via radio every n second/s in a range of 50 km. On/off button and that is all. While on, it transmits.
Basically, that is the idea. So simple that it is hard to think that it does not exists. As far as I understand, rockets use something like this. In my case, it is intended to locate skydivers jumping from high altitude.
If somebody knows where I can start looking for it or knows how to do it and wants to participate in the project, thanks for contacting.
Hope not having incurred in any mistake by posting this message in this forum.
Thanks in advance. Kind regards.:)

To achieve a 50km range you might have to consider using a gps module linked to a pair of rfd900 modems.(from memory in europe you have to use 868 MHz) https://store.rfdesign.com.au/rfd-868-modem/ or https://store.rfdesign.com.au/radio-modem-bundles/
If you use a ublox gps module https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ublox-N...513727?hash=item2ca992887f:g:yjoAAOSw9N1VzCV1 you only require 4 wires to link them together and a 4-5v power supply (usb powerbank would work).
On the ground side if you can link the modem to a laptop you would be able to use uCenter which is uBlox's test software to be able to monitor the gps position and record it on google earth.
Most rocketry trackers I have seen tend to only have a range of around 10-15 km unless you are able to use a cell based system in which case you can just use 2 phones with the right app.

Thanks a lot for your support guys! I guess I am on the right line now. Kind regards from the sunny Spain.
