Shapeways is another option if you have the STL file already but they are quite pricey.

Check out 3DHubs also (https://www.3dhubs.com). It is basically exactly what you're asking: people who use their printers to print for other folks. A had one print done by a high school student. *Can be* cheaper than the big commercial services, but price and quality vary. Anyway, worth a look.

Did you check for 3D printer interest groups and maker spaces in your area? A lot of 3D printer owners would be glad to print a limited amount of stuff for you if you pay for the filament.
