Well I'm still working on this one, I have a few to fix for launch days coming up. Soon, along with a few others will finally get finished. My Super Big Bertha has taken up most of my time.

Well, now that flying season is over im back to this. I'm still stuck on the thought of using this cardboard tube that was a spool for nylon string. I was going to use it as mentioned above with my Super Big Bertha, but decided to swap that. I have another 24mm Big Daddy, but thats gonna have a motor retainer on it. So, I may get another one too, but this one will work.

I like that the 24mm tube fits inside this with a motor and hook. That makes a tight seal for the ignition of the upper stage all the way up, now after watching a few flights I'm going to put some vent holes in the tube somewhere as that was a thought originally too, they will vent down thru the centering rings and out th aft end of the booster. And th other good thing is the outside of that tube, is a little over 29mm. Which means I can use good centering rings I got from Rocketryworks with the BT'80 tube.

Thats another thing or thought, I like that its smaller so I can use a centering ring at the top of the spool tube. Thw top of that will sit flat on the bottom of the aft ring of the Big Daddy BT. Its definitely easier to use a smaller BT size being thats it already built. I was struggling with making a booster section 3" not in ny mind but then physically trying parts. That way it will definitely help this take off the rod and leave the weather cocking to a minimum. I'm going to test it for sure, and the booster section I'll use a long 1/4 launch rod on one of the fins. I'm still thinking about motors, a C11-0 might not be enough, but I'm thinking a D12-0 may be too much for a first test for my local area that 5 mins away, but I have another test filed about 25 mins drive that I may use for this. Much, much more horizontal flight recovery room, lol. I. Gonna to doma few stand tests besides flight too. I'll do some sims and figure out something. Either way this is a go now thats its build season. Updates will follow, sooner or later this winter. I think this is going to work fairly well, I just wanted more time to think about it and gather information. I figure too if my Big Daddys gonna go out, it will with style, and no damage to anything but it... Thanks all..
