Look at this persons' other auctions. We have to know who this guy is, right? No way do you have that kind of stuff and live in Alaska and not be known to this group.

It will cost you another $400.00 or better just for shipping it back the lower 48 states...

I'll pass.

Shipping on these lots is only $35 to my place in PA. However, I have enough stuff. Don't think I'll bother with them.

I thought the Ratt Works are red, No?
Some of the nozzles are unused as they haven't been drilled out
Look at the bulkheads next to them.
They don't have an injector connection just solid.

Are those Purple Woody's or are they Rattworks hybrid cases? Both were purple.

I have a couple Rattworks motors. The bodies are purple, the injectors are red. But yes, you are right on the bulkheads. I posted a question, let's see what he says. If Purple Woody's, why he would put them in a hybrid lot is beyond me.

Frank didn't make 2" hardware... I believe the 2" stuff he is listing is 54mm, (2.125")
Frank's 'ODDBALL' size was the 2.5" stuff. Heck of a deal, I'm considering it. Wonder why there are so many more bulkheads
than cases?

I don't believe this guy knows what he has in the least. Here is his eBbay answer to my request asking for more detail on the hybrid hardware and reloads:

"Unfortunately you probably know more the I. yes those are ratt works casings and west coast I will be happy to give you a list of sizes of any thing just tell me how you want them measured. I have built some incredible rockets but have never flown any of these motors as no one here wants to fly hybrids but me. Even my rocket club had no interest which really sucked so I am selling all my hybrid stuff dirt cheap. I still think they are very cool and some day want to fly some. let me know how I can help"

Woody..who was Purple Woody..made the Sky Ripper hardware for Todd. It looks to be sky ripper motors looking at the label.

Talkeetna, wow. Was there last in the summer of '08 when I climbed Denali. It's a tiny town in the woods with a dirt main street that serves as a basecamp for climbers. That's where we caught our flight on to the glacier, and when I emerged a month later I could barely find a shower. The town is almost entirely climbers and hundreds of miles from the nearest field. Who the hell is this guy?

RATTWorks hardware has actually come in multiple colors; I've had two of the H motors, and they were different colors. My K240 was blue.

As for the hybrids in the picture, they look like they may be a mix of West Coast Hybrids and Sky Ripper. The ones with the silver label are WCH; the ones without, I suspect are SRS.

I'm not a hybrid guy so you guys know more than me.
I do own some Purple Woody 38 mm hardware.

Quite the lot, I must say. Does anyone know which liners and casting tubes fit Kosdon, and where to get them. Have searched on here but have not found any clear info.

Lots of good info, thanks Polyalcoholic!
Still, I don't see any diameter on liners or casting tubes- which ones available would fit?

Cant you read? Shipping is 40$. And I wish you guys would stop posting ebay finds. If we take the time to find them, why spread it around so we have less chance of getting it. And I really hate bidding against fellow rocketry friends.

Whomever purchased that lot of Kosdon motors is going to be pretty bummed. Those dozens of nozzles and bulkheads are all 2.5". I asked the seller if he could put a set of calipers on one of them, but he did not own any, but said that the original 2" dimension was false.

That's a lot of cases that require a custom run of liners/casting tubes...

whoops. Thank god i did not fall for that.

I know. I am skeptical though, maybe someone with CAD can take a look at the picture and scale the known 38-600 to the other cases.

The two cases running the same direction as the 38-600 near the bulkheads look as though they could be 54-1400's. If that were the case (no pun intended), they hit the 54mm jackpot. I imagine there are a lot of people out there that purchased cases without internals.

I was planning to bid $550 on it and then piece it out. Keep what I needed, then sell the rest to get my money back. That plan wouldn't have worked, apparently, but I had good intentions :)

I like the Kosdon 2.5" hardware!:). I was tempted to bid, and the winner definitely got a good value, but there was just too much lack of clarity for me to bid.

The good news about Kosdon 2.5" hardware is that liners and casting tubes are readily available at cheap prices! Balsa Machining's T70H-34 serves as the liner (comes in 34" stock length) and their full length coupler C70-34 serves as casting tubes.

Whoever won the auction, if you'd like to get rid of some of the pesky 2.5" stuff, I'm interested:wink:

I've heard that as well, apart from the fact that it's pretty thin and not a great insulator.

Wow I seen it with 10hrs in and it was still $400. Thought it might stay there! I was wrong!

Correct, it has it's limits. The T70H has a much heavier wall than standard BT-70, so that helps. For comparison, Loki/Lyngdal 75mm casting tube and liner total wall thickness is .17". Total wall for the 64mm/2.5" Balsa Machining casting tube and liner is .14"; so it is close. Low metals formulas will run fine in the Balsa Machining tubes.

So who won the auction?????:p
