Welcome to QCRS, we are a group Tripoli (prefecture #39) and NAR fliers that concentrate on High Power Rocketry. We conduct our launches under Tripoli Research Rules. We follow Safe Practices and Launch Guidelines set forth by the Tripoli Rocketry Association for Research launches. We have some general information below that you are encouraged to read over before you come and fly with us. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to QCRS Board Members.

GENERAL INFO:
1. You must be either NAR or TRA certified to fly HPR: any motor “H Class” or larger. You must fly within your certification level, unless you are attempting a certification flight.
2. You must be a member of QCRS to fly with us. Membership fees are $30.00 annually. If you are a current member, you do NOT pay launch fees month to month. We only charge members to fly at Midwest Power (as this is a very large launch with expenses above and beyond a typical monthly launch).
3. Children under the age of 18 do not pay launch fees.
4. Children will remain behind the flight line at all times
a. The only exception here are documented Tripoli Mentoring Program participants between 12-17 years of age and accompanied by their mentor. See Tripoli’s website for more information on the Tripoli Mentoring Program:

5. If you are a member of a local school, college, or university, QCRS would like to assist in making sure your group is able to fly. Please contact the QCRS Bod BEFORE you show up at a monthly launch. We cannot accommodate teams unless we know what yours needs are. It was Louis Pasteur who said, “Fortune favors the prepared mind.” Simply put, COME PREPARED!
6. Do not drive or park in any of the crop fields.
a. The only exception is at Midwest Power if we have permission to park in the field.
7. Do not park your vehicle on private driveways
8. Do not litter, take your trash with you.
9. Respect the other flyers, their personal property, and our land owner’s property.
LAUNCH PREP AND LAUNCHING:
1. QCRS has typical 1010 and 1515 rail sizes available for high power as well as some smaller rods for low power flights.
2. Do not install igniters in any rocket motors until you are at the pad.
3. Do not arm any altimeters or timers until your rocket is on the pad and pointed upright.
4. Arm any electronics BEFORE installing igniters.
5. If you are flying any “Sparky” motor, you must alert the LCO ahead of time and have a fire crew ready to assist in the event of a field fire.
6. We reserve the right to ban all “Sparky” motors if the field conditions are too dry.
