Possibly correctly reacting to this from China:President elect just tweeted, "We should tell China that we don't want the drone they stole back.- let them keep it!"
Chinese demands to come with handover of seized US drone
Beijing may insist US roll back surveillance in disputed waters (the waters AREN'T disputed, they are WAY out in INTERNATIONAL waters - W) amid fears of more tension during transition in Washington, analysts say
The saga took another turn on Sunday when US president-elect Donald Trump tweeted: We should tell China that we dont want the drone they stole back let them keep it.
Yuan Zheng, a US affairs specialist from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said Beijing would convey to Washington its dissatisfaction over the US close reconnaissance activities in the South China Sea.
Zhang Zhexin, a professor from the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, said he expected it would take about 10 days for the drone to be returned.
Beijing will strike back firmly if Trump as president openly challenges Chinas core interests like Taiwan, Tibet, the South China Sea and the East China Sea (once again, INTERNATIONAL WATERS - W), said Shi Yinhong, director of the Center on American Studies at Renmin University in Beijing and an adviser to Chinas State Council, the cabinet. Options include recalling the ambassador, stopping international cooperation, fighting a trade war -- even severing diplomatic ties.
