Does anyone know of a hobby store in the los angeles county area, preferably in the san fernando valley :p that carries rocket parts other than estes? I'd really like to be able to look at larger parts and get a feel before i start to buy stuff online, or at the store, depending on the relative prices :O, and i just feel that if i were to buy a *insert HPR item here* i would be jumping into the deep end of the pool.

I will be attending rocstock out at lucerne, weather permitting, so if you're going, you may see me, ill be the guy asking people about HPR stuff, and asking to touch their rockets to see the differences between MPR and HPR and all that :D

"What's Up Hobbies" is an onsite vendor that will be at Lucerne. He has a very large selection of products, much more than are on the website. He has everything from Estes to High Power Rocketry. I highly recommend you pay him a visit.

I'm not sure what Smith Brothers in northridge carries in the way of parts, but give them a call or pay them a visit.

The largest selection of parts that I know of is at Pegasus Hobbies, but they are not near you.

Not sure what Gizmo's carries in the way of parts in Burbank, so call them first. They did have one or more R/C rocket glider kits from Estes still on the shelf when I visited last year.

They are next to the world famous "Chili John's", so maybe you will want to visit there if you are hungry. :D

Just to be clear, the hobby shops I listed above might have Model Rocket parts and maybe Mid Power parts, but for High Power parts, you should go to What's Up Hobbies. They will have anything you need.

haha, i've passed gizmo's, but from the front and everything, im a little skeptical as to if they carry HPR stuff, but ill swing by next time im in burbank, thanks shred :)

been to kit craft a lot, but unless the have other motors, the only product i see is estes. ill give em an ask next time i go by :) and hobby people same.

i just hate ordering online because i dont order huge amounts of supplies at once, so i really would not get much bang for my buck for shipping fees :(

thanks for the help everyone :)

Kit Kraft is not on my A-list of places to support:
1-Retail Prices
and
2-they have the nerve to charge $1.00 for the FREE Estes catalog
that you can get for FREE at all the other hobby stores mentioned in this thread

i wouldnt buy motors from them, but i go in once in a while for random craft supplies, and i found the OOP estes monarch with the swept back dual fins. it's my favorite estes 24mm kit, and i modded one a while ago to make it a minimum diameter, but the field i had been using was too small and it went very far on a D12 :D so now i have one lengthened and modded to launch an E15 at rocstock :D

also built another model of same general dimentions with better fins that i'll launch on my other E15 :D

just wondering for anyone who goes to ROC. is it $10 per day per flyer, or $10 per day per flyer per launch? cuz ive seen both as per day per flyer :p

I checked out hobby people and kitcraft. Neither shop has the best prices necessarily, but kit craft is extremely close to my house, and it's on my way home, and they got fiberglass and epoxy for fairly good prices considering shipping costs, so i'm pretty excited :)
