I had a few older altimeters thathad been in 'archived rockets' and decided to clean up an existing av bay design to put them in new rockets.

Simple av bay;
  1. (2) 3d printed parts
  2. able to use either 2S lipo or 9 volt battery
  3. only uses one heat set insert (could be threaded directly)
  4. lots of places for wire management (screws to attach twist ties etc)
  5. Simple 3d design - easy to print / minimal cleanup (using my old cheep printer)
  6. Grommet / worm bulkhead mounts
  7. Shown with e perfectflite minialt but easy to use with RRC2, stratologger CF, strattologer SL100 (I have the hole patters for most of these
  8. gap for shear pins (can drill them out without worrying about hitting anything...
  9. snap in place battery holder (can use different holders depending on battery used

I assume with this quality and engineering that you do this for living?
Yup, aerospace engineer. Working on hydrogen fueled aircraft now, previously owned a composite company. Been involved in aerospace for over 30 years.

I try and bring some 'day job stuff' to the forum. Lots of the problems folks on here have, have already been solved commercially, and can be used for the hobby.

i like this. I was designing one as well for my RRC2 and my egg timer apogees. I also have a few quantum's, but this looks great for my RRC2.

Ill open up my CAD and fit this for my loc-iv's i have.

thanks for the link to this in my other post
