Dad worked part time in a local pharmacy in high school. Early in his employment, he had a customer come in and ask for condoms. Dad had no idea what a condom was, (he lived a fairly sheltered life, even for the 1940's,) so he turned and yelled to his boss in the back "Where do we keep the condoms?" When he turned back around the guy was gone, but everyone else in the store was laughing.
