Check it out.

We had a guy with the new Estes Oracle vidroc.

I had to download a dvix player first.

www.divx.com

and then the file

https://groups.yahoo.com/group/PARSeCRocketry/files/Rocket Videos/

Then I was able to play it.

look for launch29.avi

play it in slow motion and frame by frame

after the ejection, every time it swung by the sun you can see a black spot at the same location.

Really curious.

After thinking about it, I doubt its a real sunspot, probably just where the CCD chip got overloaded and saturated when the sun was in view. I'd imagine that the entire black spot was the total sun, not that the black spot was part of the sun...the black spot was the sun...

it wont let you download the video unless your a member of that yahoo group.

I'm trying to figure it out.

I don't know if it will allow it or not, without being a member.

I'll look some more tonight.

CRAP, won't let me do it (or at least I can't figure it out).
I'll see if I can get it put on the PARSeC website.
I'll let you know when it is.

Sorry about that.

Same thing happens with the camera in my phone - definitely not sunspots....

I've seen the same thing with some of the low priced security cameras such as X10 - the intense light saturates the camera and produces a black spot right where the most intense light is.

I'm trying to get the video on our website, probably this weekend...

The owner of the Oracle says it really a UFO that's hiding in the brightness of the sun where we can't usually see it.

He suspected this and made alterations to the camera of his Oracle to uncover their alien ships...

(uhhhh, yeah, right)

:kill:
