Since OpenSCAD was involved in several threads I participated in recently, I thought I would post a link to this excellent tutorial website for those who are new to OpenSCAD:

It's free, as of course is OpenSCAD. The thing I really like about OpenSCAD is the ability to store all dimensions in variables and then use the Customizer window to quickly and easily modify those settings. You can also use a boolean to turn individual parts on/off, or to create a cutaway. It's not for everyone, but I have found it to fit my style of thinking far better than traditional CAD programs.
And just in case you are wondering, it's pronounced 'open-s-cad', not 'open-scad', at least from what I read on a developers forum.
