Late last night finally got around to downloading OpenRocket onto my new laptop (running Windows 10). I get this msg in a Java Virtual Machine
    Launcher dialogue box:

" Couldn't find the main class: net.sf.openrocket.startup.OpenRocket. Program will exit. "

Anyone have any ideas on what I need to do to get OR to run? Thanks for the help!

I had to install Java just prior to downloading OR.... So, don't think it's a Java problem, BUT I will go back and do an update just to be sure.

I'm getting the same issue. What did you do to solve it?

I uninstalled my first attempt at downloading Java and simply did it again. I did go all the way through it this time to the final verification screen before closing out of the downloader. Good luck... nothing more frustrating that computer problems!!!

I am unable to edit any parts in openrocket. I click the part and then click edit and the window just greys out like I clicked in another window.

    Ideas?

I'm not having any problems with OR .... now that I reloaded Java. Sorry, but I'm no help with what you're experiencing.

    I also couldn't edit...

Edit: nevermind, the dialog was opening off screen. Alt+space, M allowed me to drag the window back on the screen (from points beyond) with the mouse.

    Hello all,
    I’m after a big favour.
As with many I have been unable to download and open OR on my new lap top installed with Windows 10. I have tried everything that has been recommended in various posts but still without success. I’ve even asked friends and family to try on their computers. They come up with the same result. I’m on the verge of giving up trying.

My immediate problem is with designs I have and being unable to access the ork files that would give me the information I need. I have three rockets ready to fly am damned if I can remember some crucial information.
Rocket 1 – The CP position and the delay time.
Rocket 2 – The fin dimensions (everything is made and built apart from the fins). Also the motors and CP position.
Rocket 3 – The motors and CP position.

All the rockets are ready to fly within a week of getting the information. Problem is I’ve lost three months and three opportunities to fly them and not likely to have an attempt till September.
I really would appreciate some help. I’ve attached three files, one for each rocket.
Is there anyone that would be able to open them and save the PDF data files. Then attach them to a reply on here?
It won’t help me with my OR problem but it will get my grandson and I flying again.

    Many thanks.
    SO.
