nomex sleeves

Quick question. Do the nomex shock cord sleeves offered by Pratt and Giant Leap fit 9/16" tubular nylon? The photos look to have 1/2" strap nylon inside the sleeves.

Longer question. Can 9/16 tubular nylon survive ejection charges without a sleeve? PML has no qualms using strap nylon on their pistons without protection.

What I've been told is that the nylon will survive ejection without a sleeve, but will tend to degrade over time. The sleeve prevents this degredation.

I just measured the sleeve I got from Giantleap and its opening when flat is almost 1 1/2 inches. This may not be what they are selling now so it would be best to email them.
