Nike Crayon Build

Well here we go, time to build my Nike Crayon. This will be flown on a H210R for its first flight.

This 4” dia, 46.5” tall and 38mm motor mount. I will be painting the body tube and fins a med charcoal grey with matte black graphics. The nose and tail cone are already in color.

Got the fins all mounted and done a dry fit of the tail cone so it is ready to be installed after I paint the body tube. Will be doing the fillets and drilling holes for rail buttons tonight.

Weather has been crappy for painting, so no color on it yet. I did get a couple coats of primer on it. Hopefully next week will be nice to paint it.

Not a problem. I finally got a free evening, and went to work in OR. I got the nosecone and tailcone spot-on with the weights, so I must have done something right. Then had a little fun in MS Paint to make the body tube "wrap" for the 3D rendering.

Quick question: Is the nosecone bulkhead removeable? It looks like hex key, buttonhead screws holding it on, but thought I should ask before screwing something up.

Yes, it is removeable. I made them that way if someone wants to add a tracker in the nose.

What type of epoxy did you use?

I use BSI 30 minute for my fillets

phenolic microballoons is what is mixed in to thicken the epoxy.
