Dateline Knik (K'Nick), home world of the Hobbicron Industrial Empire: Excitement is at a fever pitch in the capital city of Neo-Tektor on the Hobbicron home world of Knik. Commissioner of Allied Affairs Ktontoq (K'Ton'Tack) is slated to hold a press conference in a few hours, the basis of which is an announcement about a new class of ship being unveiled.

New ships are pumped out of this system on a regular basis and Slandel Phlyss of the Planetary Press has not been able to determine what is so special as to warrant a press conference from Commissioner Ktontaq herself.

It was originally believed that this announcement was related to the upcoming USPS release of the Stinger class close approach fighter sled, as the announcements are coming suspiciously close to each other. However no real evidence has surfaced.

The PP expects to have more news to report shortly so stay tuned to your hyper-tac relay through the course of the day as we get closer to the expected press release.

In related news the HIE Kevlar is showing strong growth against the USPF credit in early trading as a result of this pending press release. Trading through the end of the week will show if this will result in real growth as opposed to just a reaction to the unknown.

Later this week join the PP as we tour the HIE orbital ship yards at Ptaragan. Who knows, maybe we'll get a look at this new ship that seems to be the buzz around here.

Dateline Knik (K'Nick), home world of the Hobbicron Industrial Empire: Commissioner Ktontoq met with reporters earlier today to outline the Hobbicronium Scientific Expansion which will include the release of a new class of scientific survey craft which will be made available to all participating space-faring governements.

Acting, in part, under the guidance of the USPF General Council and the Hobbicron division of Allied Affairs, Ktontoq laid out what is being billed as a revolutionary change in the Hobbicronium outlook with regard to her neighbors and their own internal affairs. In the forefront of this radical change, the HIE is preparing to introduce a new class of ship that has been under development for over two years. This ship has been described as having the "best of all worlds built into her structure and her mission.", according to Tongtaq.

Having been a major player in the construction of ships for many governments after decades of waring followed by attempts to repair her reputation, this new ship is supposed to represent the best technology offered by the many governments that have relied upon the HIE for their ships, weapons and communications technology for the last 5 years.

"At this time, over 8 different races are represented in the Adfecta class ship", said Tontaq in her closing statements. This ship reflects the best in engine design, sensor capability, data storage, communications and even weapons, though her mission is exploration and not war.", Tongtaq went on. According to information provided a the press conference, the Adfecta class science ship is to be released this week with the assurances that they will be made available to each of the 8 governments whose technology was used in its creation. These ships will be provided at a loss (financially) to the HIE under the contract requirement that all data collected by all ships be equally shared among the participating governments.

This unprecedented approach to scientific advancement is a new direction for the Hobbicron's having been described as "war-like" and "greedy" ever since their discovery, decades earlier. "It is a sign of prosperity to come" Commissioner Tongtaq stated, as she closed her announcement. No questions were taken from the crowd of anxious reporters in the Grand Hall, but we expect information packets to arrive at any time which will be released to the public via the hyper-tac relay at Knik.

Dateline: Knik - It has happened! The Adfecta is a reality!

From the data sheet provided after the latest press conference we have the following announcement:

The Hobbicron Industrial Empire shocked their local galactic neighbors with an unprecedented announcement! Having provided design and construction services for many surrounding governments, the HIE has taken what appears to the be best from each civilization and combined this technology into one superior scientific exploratory vessel.

Christened the “Adfecta” class, or “Aspire” from the ancient earth language Latin, the HIE has made these fine ships available to each government whose technology or other contribution were used in its development.
