Unless you live near a McMaster-Carr, it is recomended that you "car-pool" your order with another flier, as shipping for the longer items is quite steep.

That is true

A 6 foot rail will ship UPS but the 8 and 10 footers are shipped common carrier. Buy two 6 footers and the coupling hardware.
