This will be our first time going to the Rocket pasture, I got the information Email pointing out some of the do's and don'ts especially about staying on the improved roads.
For those who have been there what's it like in the area where the flyers will be set up? The sat photos don't show a lot of detail is it all dirt, scrub grass, or hard pack? I figure
we will need to bring the rubber boots if the rains continues but does it soak in fast or does it stay on the surface. Does it get real muddy where you sink a few inches or does it
just get sticky and messy? Going thru the final packing and needs list and trying to make sure we bring everything we need. Looking forward to being there and Thanks in advance
for any info.

If it rains at the pasture, there are areas that can get pretty muddy. Generally, the pasture itself (the flyers area) is OK with plenty of grass, and it stays pretty solid. After even a light rain, open dirt areas (recovery areas), can get mucky. Won't have too many areas where you sink into the mud, but it will stick to your footwear. Some of the lower areas (waterways) may have a few inches of standing water. Rubber boots are always a good idea.
"Better to have it, and not need it, than to need it, and not have it".
As a side note to everyone attending LDRS:
When driving to the pasture, stay on the prescribed route as indicated by the KloudBuster map:

DO NOT take shortcuts down the ungraveled dirt roads. YOU WILL GET STUCK!
If you're driving a car, YOU WILL GET STUCK!
If you're driving a 4WD, YOU WILL GET STUCK!
If you're driving a tracked vehicle (i.e. tank), YOU WILL GET STUCK!
Even the slightest amount of moisture in the road dirt turns it into a greasy muddy mess, and YOU WILL GET STUCK!
If you get stuck, it is EXPENSIVE to get a pull out. And when you are stuck you can't fly rockets!
