Working on a sim of a modified TLP Phoenix missile, but the person who sent me the instructions and a few photos wasn't able to answer some questions I had.

I've read a claim that TLP used Estes parts in their kits, but I didn't get the vibe that the source was an authority on TLP. The file I have for the instructions show that the body tube is 1.6". Estes however, doesn't have a 1.6" OD body tube (BT-60 is 1.637), but Centuri, as well as Semroc, do have 1.6" OD tubes (ST-16). And I have zero experience with actual TLP kits.

So, does anyone have one that they can check out for me... Is it BT-60 or ST-16?

And what about the nosecone, is it the PNC-60NA (PN 72057) nosecone? Or something different?

Thanks!
Jim

BT-60 is 1.60" ID and 1.64" OD, .021" thick.
ST-16 is 1.59" ID and 1.63" OD, also .021" thick.
So only 1/100" difference in diameter.
I ordered some ST-16 tubing once from erockets and was sent the brown BT-60 tubes. When I asked about it Randy said they are for all intents and purposes the same, so they don't differentiate between them anymore.
I can also say that TLP kits use thin wall, not thick wall tubing, so probably Estes BT-60 rather than Centuri/Semroc ST-16 since that is more readily available on the market. TLP made both a 2.6" and a 1.6" Phoenix kit per their own descriptions.
Technically, should probably be called 2.63" and 1.64" kits.
Can't help you on the nose cone,

I realize that there may be a rounding error here, but in looking at the specs on BT-60 for OR... 1.637" OD, ID 1.595". whereas ST-16 is 1.64"OD, 1.6" ID. The big thing is the nosecone... Is it the PNC-60NA?

PNC80K nose cone and BT80 tube.....or do I have the wrong rocket....
