but was wondering if anyone knew the weight in grams of a 4x6in or 6x8in piece of either one?
 
Well, if you believe in the accuracy of OR, basswood weighs .289 oz/cubic in. and birch ply weighs .364 oz/cubic in.
Of course, individual sheets will vary in density, I assume these are averages.
I'll let you crank out the math.

Thanks Kurinin. As a mean average, that info will get me down the road of discovery. Excel does math better than me!
 
I just weighed a 6x12 in sheet of 1/8" birch plywood. It weighs 105g. So 4x6 would weigh 35g and 6x8 would weigh 70g.
