Well, Im back home in NH.
Trip out west went good.
Got some things done for Mom.
Replaced the vanity top ,sink/faucet in one bathroom.
That went so,so. I was a little baffled when I set the top. It hang over the side edge to far and the flat part underneath was out about 1/4" from edge and I didnt have anyplace for the caulking/adhesive.
Also the back splash didnht sit flush along wall.
Well, I got out the sheetrock razor knife and MADE IT FIT!!!
Anywhoo, later I was out in garage looking at the box the vanity top came in and it hit me, the vanity was set in the corner of bathroom and whoever put it in didnt put a spacer/style in, so the side of vantiy was against the wall.
So, the top was not/couldnt be centered on vanity.

Wanted to replace the filters in the R.O. system, however, its was an old unit and no mas parts.
So, I installed a new system and got an extra set of filters to boot.
That went so,so.
The old unit only had a 1/2 hole thru the stainless sink for the faucet.
The new one needed a halfmoon hole about 1,1-1/2 ish across.
OK, now what to do?
I got out the Dremel and used a cut off disc and went to cutting.
Then I used a deburring bit in a 3/8 drill motor to clean it up.

Took the lift for Dads scooter thing off the back of the Blazer.
That went so,so.
Dad had it WELDED into the Reese Hitch.
Not to my surprise, Dad was a pipewelder and once a welder, well, everything gets welded.

Did some yard work and other odds and ends.

Mom and I did get out and go places, dinners out, went up to Jerome and hit the casino.

The trip home went so,so.
Trip started 9am (11 am est) Weds ,when Mom took me to the shuttle station.
2.5 hrs later I get to the airport with a good 2-1/2 to 3 hrs wait to take off.
The shuttles run every 2 hrs, so, I took the early train to be safe.
I have 1 stop in NC with a 37 minute layover.
WELL, we get into NC late, they change our gate and we wait, then they give us a gate, we pull in and they cannt get the door open to let us off.
All the while MY connection flight is loading and geting ready to take-off at 10.16pm
I dont get off the plane till 10.11 pm.
We are in gate "B 4" my connector is in gates"C-16"
Of course!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me and my oversized, over stuffed, carry-on start and I say ,START OUT on a dead run......Ha ha ..This lasted for about 50 yards.
It was like I hit a wall, my legs just stopped working.Geeze,I cannt imagine why, seeing Ive only been sitting for the last 9 hrs or so.
Well, at this point I can see the gate but it mites well be 2 miles away. Doesnt matter .... IM DONE!
In my last ditch effort to save from spending the night in NC, I raise my burning ,aching arm with bag in hand and push out ,in a winded voice "C-16"
The guy SHUTTING the door to the ramp turned and looked at me..
Ive been saved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That flight lands in Manchester NH at 12:18am Thursday morning. My friend is there to pick me up. We get back to his place in Concord for the night around 1:15am.
Now, I aint in the sleeping mood. Ive been strapped in a seat for the last 13-15 hrs on and off.
I lay down till 5am and I just got to go. I still got almost 2hrs driving time ahead of me.
I get outside...5 degrees!!!! My trucks been parked there for a week and its still covered with snow and ice.
I end up getting on road around 6am and got home at 8am.
Yesterday I was BURNED OUT!!!!!!!and Im still a little wacky today.
Heres a few pics of my flight home. One pic is me with my CMASS shirt up in Jerome at the Spirit Room.

OH... Today, Sandy calls me from work and tells me the JEEP wont turn over.
Has power,but nota happenes.
Long of short...Tow charge, new starter/ labor =$376.00

Welcome Home Honey!!

Sounds like you were a busy camper. Ya did good for your Mom tho' and that's what counts. As for TRF- Welcome home, honey! :D

Well, I'll say this to the busy traveler. You were severely missed. I for one look forward to my dose of Scotty Dog. Welcome back!

Scotty;

Glad your home safe, Just remember if your Mom needs anything just let your Rocket Brothers out here know and we will do what we can to help out!

Sounds like a pretty productive trip... too bad it wasn't under better circumstances... :(

I hear ya on the starter thing... nothing seems to send a starter to the junkyard faster than cold weather... Mine decided to crap out in my 92 F-150 in the MIL's driveway in Indiana several years ago... Luckily I borrowed her car, drove to Auto Zone in Rochester, picked up a new starter, and came back and changed it out in the driveway... fortunately it was kinda warm that day, hadn't snowed in a week or so, and was in the mid-30's... so it went quickly and easily...

Hope things go better for you... take a walk so you don't get flibitis in your legs... (blood clots from sitting too long on a plane)...

Later! OL JR :)

I know we had a chat on the PM........

But welcome home Scott ,glad to have you back my friend !!

Good to be back home.
Ill tell ya, sitting in one place for a long period of time is just short of total torture to me.
Some of it is the physicial part, its mostly the lower back that acts up,but more so its the mental part. I just go completely stir crazy.
I do walk alot. Even on weekends/days off , Ill take the dog out back in the woods, get on the old RR track bed and usualy do a couple miles.
I did a few laps around Wally World last night. I went there to get wiper fluid, and a few food items. I spent more time doing laps around the store than I did shopping.
Today Ill fire up the tractor and clean up the driveway. Then I'll HAND sand it.
I get buckets of sand from the town shed. Ill start at top and work/walk my way down. Its about 600 -700 ft of drive and its all down hill, then the return is all up hill. Makes for a good work out.
Kinda wanted to launch a couple this weekend, but its snowing now and its cold. Maybe tomorrow?????

On the starter thing.. I got to be thankfull it happened where and when it did.
You get down below zero and break down, that spells big troubles. We also have a lot of dead spots(cell phone) around here.
Ya, it could have been alot worse.
Later.....

It's gotta be rough living somewhere there's an actual winter...

It was 77 degrees here yesterday and the wind was blowing from the southwest about 20 mph... I was outside hanging laundry on the line in my shorts and T-shirt and kept getting PO'd because it kept blowing the shirts and towels I was hanging on the line back in my face... that and this one goofy cat, that won't hardly let you pet him, but he INSISTS on circling around my legs and feet and laying down where I'm standing and working while I'm hanging laundry...

Today it's dark, drizzly, and 60 degrees outside... a little closer to normal for January...

Later! OL JR :)

Welcome back!

BTW, those 3" rocket pats are still gathering dust, just looking for a caring home.......:D

Welcome home, I was listening to this last night.
enjoy!

Did you remember to click your heels together three times and say...
ah-hum.....I thought the heel wearing thing was supposed to be kept a secret between us.....:bangpan::tongue:

Also, I hope the rocket you launched for me at Cmass Acton, wasnt the one that ended up on the wires???????
