Last year I bought a Cherokee-D clone from Semroc as a gift for my good friend Jon.
At the June WOOSH launch, Jon lost it on the 3rd flight as it caught a thermal and drifted over the treeline 3500 feet from the launch pad at Bong.
To make a long story short, with Semroc gone, I decided scratch building was in order to replace the lost Cherokee. I've got most of the parts in my parts bin... except for fins cut to size.
To make things easy - I had a slotted airframe and laser cut light-ply fins made up by Carl at DFR Tech.
Carl did a great job!
-Excellent email communication.
-Laser cut based on my OpenRocket file.
