I've found one build thread on the forum, and got some ideas from it. When I picked it up, I hadn't realized it was a foamy. Not necessarily a problem - just unanticipated.

Has anyone modded this foamy into a glider? (No, I wouldn't expect it to be a good one.)

Has anyone modded it to descend in 'feathered' configuration?

I'm thinking of the latter - looking for ideas.

At one time I was considering modifying a SpaceshipOne kit to be an RC rocket glider. I never did it, but I still think about it....

When I looked on-line, I found some information by people who had tried a RC gliding SpaceshipOne. The flights I saw seemed unstable, and the 'glide' did not perform consistent.

I came up with similar search results. My current plan is to modify so that it recovers in 'feathered' mode - like the real one. Use an Eggtimer Quantum to command a servo to tip the wing/tail up at apogee.

And maybe use carbon rod to stiffen the booms.

I really like the look of the kit - but it doesn't get good reviews.
