Easymini Modes

I've got an Easymini that I am using for dual deploy. Sometimes when I start it up, it beeps out the voltage, then gives the Dit Dah Dah Dit for pad mode followed by the Dit Dit Dit signifying both charges are connected. Sometimes, when it powers up it beeps out the voltage, then give the Dit Dit Dit for the charges. It skips the pad mode signal.
Does it need to signal pad mode? If so, why would it not signal pad mode?

Would you believe it depends on the battery voltage? If it takes a long time to beep out the voltage, it'll actually skip beeping out the pad mode signal. I've fixed this in future firmware releases as it confused me too!

Huh, I never even knew about the pad mode signal because I use a 9v battery.
