I am wondering if anyone knows where I might be able to get a 8" 5:1 conical carbon cone. Or alternately if anyone here who rolls there own tubes would be comfortable making a cone using an existing fiberglass cone as a mandrel?
Because the rocket is entirely conical the cone does not have to match any existing tubing it just has to have the correct taper. The wall thickness can be anywhere between .062 and 0.1 as long as it's reasonably consistent. Also only the lower 17" of cone length is needed, the upper portion will be fiberglass for radio transparency and will be made from a commercially available nose cone.
