Anyone have a source for lathe turning work ?
I need a conical 2.2 inch nosecone and a
2.2 to a 4.02 transition section.

I will be using the 2 parts as plugs to make molds so I can cast the parts out of Alumilite White Casting Resin

Thanks for any recommendations

Bobby

Forgot to add the drawings of the 2 parts needed

I guess hardwood would be cheaper.
What would the Aluminum cost ?
They are just gonna be used 1 time to make a casting mold from rubber.
Would like to get a quote for both materials .

PM me if you like

Bobby

Good hardwood in that size is hard to find and expensive. The 4" dia would have to be made from glued/clamped boards and turned. Then the surface of the wood needs to be filled with epoxy and sanded smooth several times. Aluminum is less work and comes out with a better finish. I'll sent you a cost breakdown.
