Ever wanted a light fin?
If the fins of the model rocket can be made lighter, the center of gravity can be raised and the fins can be made smaller.
That is, the air resistance can be reduced.
If you make the fins lighter, you can launch a large rocket high with a small motor.
I made carbon fins with expanded styrene as the core.
By cutting out the carbon plate and then crushing it while melting the edges with CA, we succeeded in making a light knife-edged fin.

Nice composite idea. Not sure how the fin edge would hold up in the supersonic region when heating is a problem. Great for slower birds though :).
