I have drifted in and out of model rocketry since the Mid 1970s around the age of 13. Built Estes rockets. My favorite models I built in 70s were The Omega, The Vigilante, the original Estes Space Shuttle, the Solar Sailer and The Scissorwing Transport. I built rockets with my son in the 2000s (he is now 26) and now have more time and money to devote to my first real hobby. I just purchased a new old stock Solar launch controller and an original 1970s Estes Omega 2 stage (my favorite rocket of all time) still sealed in the bag off eBay. Now I'm broke but I find my searches for information constantly bring me here. I'm going to support the group with a paying membership but I just want to check it out for a month or so. Glad to be a part.

I got my first one with a launch set for my birthday that year. Built it Friday, painted it Saturday and lost it on a C6-5 flight on Sunday. It floated off into a forested area on the NKU campus. Several years later when I went to school there they turned that area into a parking lot. I thought of my Alpha a lot when I parked out in the Scooby Doo lot. (That's a King's Island joke for you Ohio types out there.)

Then you should download OpenRocket and make a pilgrimage to the files of K’tesh for inspiration.

I think you’ll find most all of your old rocket memories exist in Hunter’s link above, or in Jimz’s plans:

Got a favorite old rocket catalog you haven’t seen in decades? Then block off some time to peruse Sven’s collection at:
