What's the best RF tracker/beacon. My friend flies mid/high power, and complains that his current beacon works great in the air, but dies once on the ground.

[spellcheck] mmmmm...tasty, tasty rocket bacon!

I did about a year long search into this very topic and landed on the Marshall falcon tracking systems. Crazy powerful and super small and the receiver is about as narrow as you can get.

Marshall is a good product. I personally use LL Electronics and ComSpec.

I have never lost a rocket with either. That is when I use them.

With some of the CommSpec receivers you can use...Marshall...LLC and ComSpec transmitters.

The ones with the 219 freq. and 220-224 freq.

Marshal Scout has a range of 40 miles in the air and line of sight on ground with a 42 day battery life.
