I just got back from the Dallas Area Rocket Society Jim Turner Memorial Launch. While I sold a few of my own kits, the really cool thing was picking up new kits for myself.
Red River Rocketry is a new vendor in the Dallas area. They have 2 kits on the market now, Zip and P-Chuter. Both kits feature color package art, laser cut fins, balsa nose cones and water slide decals. (Familiar theme, huh?) The kits look geat, even though I haven't had time to build them. I've seen the prototypes fly and there's no disapointment here.
I also picked up the 2 kits from Yoyodyne Aerospace, the Semi-3 and Klingon Quantum Torpedo. These kits feature plastic nose cones, balsa fins and color package art on the Klingon Torpedo (B&W art on the Semi-3). Again, I haven't built these but have seen the prototypes fly. The Klingon Torpedo is both eye catching and performance oriented. The Semi-3 uses an interesting 'maple leaf' recovery system.
